The 27th Wooden Boat Festival is scheduled for Labor Day Weekend, August 29th-September 1st, 2019.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Thursday, August 29 - 7 pm, Salty Dawg Saloon
Sea chantey, sea stories, fishing poetry. Bring your own! Especially stories about Bristol Bay.
Friday, August 30 - 6 pm, Kenai Peninsula College-Homer Campus, Rooms 201 & 202
Speakers and movies about Bristol Bay and the "Back to the Bay" project. Salmon chowder and hardtack!
Saturday, August 31 - 10 am-5 pm, Fishing Hole Campground behind Pier One Theater
Wooden Boats on Display: sailboats, power boats, row boats, whale boat, kayaks, canoes, etc.
Bring your own boat! (any condition!)
Marine skills demonstrations. Kids model boat building.
Boating safety booth. Coast Guard Auxiliary booth.
Booths by other ocean/fish friendly organizations/people.
Food trucks with tasty treats.
8-10 pm, Down East Saloon, $10 suggested donation at the door
Come dance to the live music provided by the celtic, bawdy band: Rogues and Wenches! (www.roguesandwenches.com or on Facebook).
Sunday, September 1 - Noon to 5 pm, Fishing Hole Campground
Festival ongoing.
1-3 pm, Acoustic sing-along with the Rogues and Wenches, a celtic pub band.
Year-round the Wooden Boat Society tries to hold monthly meetings the second Tuesday of the month. We potluck at 6 p.m. and start our meeting at 7 p.m. Meeting location changes, so become a member to be on our email list to receive meeting notifications.
We would love to have some new wooden boat enthusiasts members!

During the Winter
